Orway offers onsite and remote optimisations, as well as audits and due diligence on proposed and existing projects worldwide.
OptimisationS
The optimisation process begins with a review of production data, control philosophy, operating practices and analysis of survey data.
Optimisation of comminution circuits (crushing and grinding) is one of Orway’s key specialities. Analysis of production data or surveys are undertaken with data and or sample collection of key process streams. In the case of surveys, key streams are sent off for testwork, sizing, density determination and comminution characterisation tests.
The survey data is then analysed, unit processes are benchmarked using Orway software and a computer model of the circuit is produced. These techniques allow Orway to identify bottlenecks and constraints, providing relevant and practical solutions to circuit optimisation.
We have found best results are achieved using our optimisation model, which comprises a site visit in addition to office-based modelling. Knowledge gained during the site visit allows identification of areas for possible improvement with detailed modelling confirming the benefit.
This approach has resulted in significant benefits for numerous projects over the years. An analysis of the magnitude of benefits experienced by Orway’s clients is shown in the table below:
Technical Auditing & Due Diligence
As subject experts, Orway provide technical reviews of mineral processing plant designs, metallurgical testwork, circuit selection, design criteria, recovery, capital and operating costs. This can be undertaken for proposed or existing projects. In addition, Orway conducts reviews of metallurgical accounting practices and procedures, energy efficiency and operating costs.
