Scope of Work

Orway’s scope of work was comminution circuit selection and design.  After installation Orway assisted with project ramp and then long term optimisation projects including comminution surveys and online Remote Optimisation Consulting and Coaching (MillROC).

Flowsheet

The comminution flowsheet consisted of primary crushing (1x FLS 1400 x 1200 TSU), SAG milling (1x Outotec 10.97m Ø x 5.79m EGL, 15MW) with pebble crushing (2x Metso HP4), and ball milling (1x FLS 7.93m Ø x 10.82m EGL, 15MW each).

Notable Feature

High throughput continues to be achieved and is supported with frequent circuit surveys to benchmark circuit performance and address inefficiencies.  A high degree of optimisation was undertaken over the years, including powder factor optimisation and novel liner designs driven by the client.

Outcome

The Gruyere circuit ramped up to above design throughput ahead of target project dates.  Continual support remains in place to ensure optimal performance of both the SAG and Ball mills.
