Scope of Work

Orway’s scope of work was to provide online Remote Optimisation Consulting and Coaching (MillROC). 

Flowsheet

The comminution flowsheet consisted of primary crushing (1x FLS 1400 x 2100 TSU) feeding a single stage SAG mill (1x FLS 10.36m Ø x 6.10m EGL, 14MW) with pebble crushing (1x Sandvik CH660).  Both gravity and flotation were utilised for recovery.

Notable Feature

Variable feed sources with significant hard ore blends contributed to a dynamin processing requirement.  Operation near maximum level required innovative solutions to common processing challenges.

Continual support also proved to successfully address changes in site staffing and provide assistance in retaining processing knowledge.

Outcome

Based on the unique operating conditions, frequent and robust discussions were employed to keep processing at optimal levels.  The net effect was a sustainable increase of 27% to the overall circuit throughput rate, while improving the baseline energy efficiency.

A positive effect of improved efficiency manifested in extending the liner life from approximately three and a half months to well over four months.
